Today is day 2 of my Tokyo Journey! We decided to sleep in as our roommates had woken us up with their usage of the hairdryer at 6am in the morning. At 11am, we headed for Akihabara and as soon as we left the train station, we were enticed by the game arcade nearby. As with every other arcade in Akihabara, it was a 6 story building with the bottom two stories filled with UFO Catcher machines and all the other floors filled with video game machines and simulators. We started off with Yan Ting playing a simple machine to get her control bear plushies, before we went to the second floor to attempt to catch a K-On figurine that came with a miniature drum set. It cost me 2100yen and many trips by the floor attendant before I was able to get it! Yan Ting continued to get another 5 control bears and a couple of random toys while I caught myself 5 control bears and a small rat plushie keychain. After the arcade, we roamed the streets while exploring any shop that attracted our attention. Akihabara is divided into two parts, namely Electric Town (Which sells all things electric) and the anime portion while sold all anime related objects.
As we had wanted to visit a maid cafe, we went to "Maid Dreaming" cafe where we ordered the basic Omu Rice set, which came with a drink, a polaroid with one of the maids of our choice and a souvenir (which I chose a file). The meal was delicious, and during the meal, three of the girls performed on the stage for everyone, to the tune of AKB48 songs. The meal costed us 3200yen (S$51.66) per person. After lunch, we continued to roam the streets and I had to constantly prevent myself from shopping. After roaming for a while, we finally spotted Black Rock Shooter (B*RS) figurines and I saw a limited edition 1/8 Animation Figurine being sold for 10800yen. It was a mint in sealed box. After walking around for another hour, I realised that the B*RS figurines are so rare that I would never see another Animation Figurine again, especially since it's sold out everywhere online too. And so, I went back and splurged on the B*RS Animation Figurine. After the purchase, we made our way to Shibuya where we went to Shibuya 109 for some shopping. Yan Ting was very excited as the fashion in Shibuya is more catered towards her style. As we were meeting Jerrine, Eng Chiew, Tan Wen and the rest at Shibuya, we could only shop for about an hour. Dinner was pretty uneventful and we had dinner at a italian restaurant that offered italian-japanese fushion dishes. I ordered a grilled hamburger/chicken dish with free flow soup and drinks. After dinner, we all parted ways and went back to our hostels.
