Summer Programme Icebreaking Session 30th June

During the afternoon, we had a couple of ice-breaking games at the MPH for all the students in the Summer programme and some of the Japanese students from Komachi hall. It was an afternoon filled with fun and laughter, with many new friends made and a little exercising done.

Lunch 30th June

Had squid-tempura with rice today, in teriyaki sauce. Other than the sauce being slightly salty, the food was pretty good! I am so missing the chilli and the dark sauce that Singapore offers, which is rare/absent in Japan!

Shooting Stars / Light Painting

We had planned to go watch shooting stars and sunrise in the morning at around 2am and so we split into two groups. The group that wanted to watch shooting stars would meet at 2am while the group that wanted to watch sunrise would meet at 3am. I was with the 2am group and while we were at the grandstand of the baseball field, we leaned back again the seats and watched the sky. It was a surreal experience and while sitting there with my best friend, we saw a couple of shooting stars, around 5 or so. Had never expected to be able to watch shooting stars fly across the sky, even more so while with somebody important! It was really beautiful but unfortunately, I forgot to bring my camera tripod plate and thus was unable to capture the shooting stars! After bringing the group back to the hall at 3am, I led the second group to the field and we wanted to wait for sunrise there. However, the sun decided to play punk on us and rose at another side and so we left the field and headed for the carpark. The sunrise was not pretty at all and we ended up doing some light painting. At approximately 4am, it was as bright as day!
