After unpacking whatever that needed to unpacked, the three of us left the room and headed for the streets.. there were quite a few eateries but we settled for a hole-in-the-wall kind of traditional Japanese shop. I had Zaru soba: cold soba noodles with tempura. The noodles were al-dente and the tempura really fresh to the point that I was eat vegetables I''ve never eaten before in my life! The price was not exactly cheap but reasonable by Japanese standards. I paid ¥1400 for the entire dish and the cold water was complementary.. there was no service charge nor taxes so the meal was really worth it. At the end of the meal, I was served a bowl of water used to cook the noodles and mixed it with the remaining soba sauce to form a satisfying bowl of soup!
